I am an almost 30 year old, single, straight, successful male. I have never had a girlfriend or even a first kiss. I have not even come close to having any of this. I don't get the whole dating game at all. I talk to girls, socialize often, but they are all in a relationship, engaged, married or simply not interested. I live on Long Island, so it's not like we don't have a night life or a shortage of women...or do we? I am beginning to think that most people my age just don't date yet, it is the only logical conclusion.
What do you think?
Is dating something that really happens?codes for myspace
I haven't exactly collected statistics, but I would guess that most people have been in some kind of relationship by the time they reach your age. It's not necessarily something wrong with you - it probably just means you have not been pursuing women as actively as other guys do. The guys who "get all the girls" really make a lifestyle out of it - not very many people have the time to hold down a serious career and be a "ladies' man". But if you are a reasonably social person, you can probably find a girlfriend - just meet new people and go to parties. You can also try the online dating thing - it at least helps screen out the people who are spoken for.
