Is dating someone else good for a relationship?

Me and my ex girlfriend were together for 3 years. We are 19 years old and she was my highschool sweetheart. I admit that I messed things up by being too controlling and jealous but thats beyond the point. We broke up in hopes of getting back one day. She now tells me we should date other people to see how its like and what our relationship had or lacked that she took granted for. I don't see that dating other people would help at all. Anyone think it would have a positive outcome if we do?

I would put it like this. Dating other people would not help. And if she's talling you to date other people.....Sorry to say but she's out to look for better. And if she happen's to find better she's going to leave you alone and go with him. I don't know. Maybe you might see it different but that's how I feel.

Maybe it would help you, you will realize how much truly you love her but at the same time i find that very hard, cuz you are still thinking about her but dating other people you know wut i mean? but sometimes its the other way around... but who knows maybe a break will help both of you guys think on what exactly you want!
