I know you asked for just guys but I was in the same situation with my boyfriend. It's difficult to step into a relationship when they are already a family and sometimes you feel as if you are on the sidelines, watching. Don't get me wrong, I love his kids and miss them when they are not with us but it is difficult, you should try to give him a little time to adjust. I have always told my boyfriend from the very beginning, though that his boys are the most important people in his life, if they need something we will sacrifice to get it.

get rid of him and find someone that will love you and your child. someone that will not mind your child being around. whatever you do, do not put you child to the side for a man or because of a man. want you as is, or dont want you at all. bd
You need to make it clear to him that your child will always be numero uno in your life regardless of how much you like/love the person your dating or with. Just be clear with him.
im the same way my girl now has a kid but the kids not mine he just got to help you and try to think that he can be in the kids life
I haven't dated a woman with a child where I actually met the child. My future brother in law is dating my sister who has 2 boys. He interacts with them. He likes them and they like him. If a guy is bothered by the kids thing then why is he going out with you? He must have known all along. Spend the time you can with him, but also incorporate your kids into the picture some too. Let them get to know each other. I'm sure they'll get along fine.
do not let him meet your child until YOU think this could be the guy for YOU.... you don't want to fall in love with someone just because he's a great dad to your child, you want to fall in love with someone because YOU feel that way
I don't think there is a way to make it easy. If you have a kid, that is the biggest part of your life and that aint going anywhere. He accepts it or doesn't.
After 1 girl with kids...I decided to make it a point not to do that again.
Hi!
When I got divorsed, this was the hardest issue for me to over come - infact I had a single-mom friend that I talked about ths to some extenent. While I dated lots of women in the interim, I never wound up dating a single mom. Four years later I met my wife, a single mom. We've been together for 8 years now, and married for six, and had a child, now four.
what she did? Be herself. Not expect me to be the father of the child. What you can do? Set the expectaions for how you expect him to interact with your kid. This happened o quickly with my wife, that i didn;t even notice it was happening...
You should already know if he likes kids (you said months, right?) and if he is interested in being a parent. I'd expect that he already has met your child.
If all these things are true, you should already be in a good place to help him. And at this point - I would just ask him! Is he nervous around your child? Does he feel he can.cannot say anything if the child needs disapline - and how do you feel about this?
Hope this helps a littlle, and good luck...tw
